Sober Companions of Orange County is a private, California-based company, who’s mission is to provide help to those in need. Regardless of the location and addiction, our team is willing to give help, structure and resources to keep the addict or alcoholic clean and sober. Our staff is a team of recovered addicts and alcoholics, men and women counselors and interns who have worked at treatment centers and detox facilities. We recognize the necessity for one-on-one care for clients seeking recovery, which is something inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation and detoxification centers and facilities do not, and cannot, provide to their clients.

There are many advantages to getting help with a Sober Companion/Sober Coach over going to an inpatient facility. Unlike a treatment center, most our Sober Companions/Sober Coaches are also interventionists who, if need be, will come to the client to assess their addiction, and, if required or recommended, provide an intervention. We stay with a client usually for fifteen days (longer if needed), either at their home, another family member’s house, hotel, motel or residence of their choosing. We provide the client with the same quality help, counseling, education and resources any expensive rehabilitation center has to offer, for the fraction of the price. The difference is that we are with the patient almost 24/7, offering support and courage to our client to fight the addiction. Since we come and stay with the client, we often incorporate the family into their recovery (if it does not obstruct their recovery process). We give our clients more freedom than other rehabilitation centers to demonstrate that life sober can be just as fun and exciting, if not more, than life using drugs and alcohol; for example, we go out to eat, we can go to the beach, the movies, roller-skating, dancing, spend time with friends and loved ones (as long as they are sober), and much, much more. We will not kick out the client for “fraternizing” with their girlfriend/boyfriend or “giving lip” to the staff members, nor does the client need to put up a large sum of money before recovery starts or at the end of every month; we figure out a payment system that works for the client, the typical rate of pay being every few days.
